Current researchMost traditional groups are living in our time, and although having a history and collecting knowledge from before where it is available, our applications are for our time, and our studies to expand our skills for tomorrow, and from this viewpoint we do not need to prove a pedigree from any particular group, or culture. In our world today, many people feel there is a need for a theory or proof for every section of belief. We do not, we can accept that some things are known and some are not. as we do not seek to convert anyone, we see no need to make up anything to justify our position. A good example of this is the creation, we do not accept the creation as laid down in many old religions on scientific grounds. However we do not either except the big bang theory as there are too many tweaks needed to make the science and math's stand up, we are able to take the position that as yet no theory has been put forward that provides an answer, and when one day one is we will say it is a possible answer and there may be other explanations still also to come across. The point being that we see no need to take a side, or viewpoint so as to just have an explanation. Continuing researchOver the years we have encouraged member groups to have a variety of research projects from reclassifying knowledge to collecting herbal cures. A few years back we promoted the idea of changing over to classify as much of craft knowledge as possible by the new age groupings ie hypnotherapy, herbalism, aromatherapy, massage, energy transfer........ and this has been followed now by most groups, with a left over class of traditional where the knowledge does not fit any other. Just about all older forms of research from understanding or reassessing knowledge from many sources continues, and will do into the future. 2 NEW paragraph NOV 05 - Up to date researchIn addition we have what we refer to as up to date research, which is more to do with breaking new ground than rediscovering the old knowledge. Some of this has been going on now for many years, with some breakthroughs, and other areas we have partial breakthroughs in but have more work to test them. Another area that a number of groups have been looking at is what is known as 'the new economic model' this relates to a way that organisations businesses and others work together to the benefit of all those involved. An existing project to undertake this in a really large way internationally is already in hand. Our objective is not to attempt to duplicate this, but to understand the principles being used and to point our members and organisations to the information that will be beneficial for them. Craft organisations unfortunately are not at this point able to to join in the existing project as there is a complete ban at the moment on all political or religions being involved. We understand the reasoning behind this, and may be able to find a route around this. watch out for more details around January. Existing and continuing research included:- Projects led by the Water Witches
Projects lead by Primitive Druids 1955 Group
Project led by the Magnetic Cyclone Group
Project led by Country Herbalists and Green Witches
Project led by Celtic Christians
Project led by Holistic Witches (previously known as the Old Wessex Holism Society)
Projects led by the Fire Angels
Other groups have asked that their projects are not listed at this time, but includes several indexes that may be added to one of our web sites, most likely the school of witchcraft site. EthicsThe development of new craft skills in particular presents the ever increasing need to consider ethics in what we can and cannot do without harming anyone. Telepathic viewing for example was in some ways a major breakthrough, where we are able to teach some parents how to know what their children are doing and when they are in danger as well as where they physically are. We have not yet tried this with missing people, or anyone where a pattern cannot be developed while they are able to confirm what they experience. However the implementations of this presents great ethical problems in that no person (child) would wish to be constantly monitored, particularly mid teen girls. Therefore we have chosen not to deploy these skills but to work now for a means whereby a refined method would allow the child to call for attention using a telepathic signal and then allow distant viewing, however at other times viewing would be blocked. Another group are looking at another method that would allow parents first to learn the basic techniques which are easier to implement while the child is younger and bond greater, and either a hypnotic filter introduced or a child based technique available that would allow them to block the transmission. there is some way to go on these. Similar ethical problems exist with ideodynamics in relation to interviewing people. While we use this to tell if people are reporting truthfully to or researchers as well as releasing memories people had overlooked, we would not want this to get into the hands of police forces, as they do not investigate but target people, or into the hands of employers. Even within relationships this could be a skill some partners would not want the other to have. In many ways the ethics of developments and how they can and should be used presents as big a challenge as making the discoveries, and an ethics group is now looking at better ways to make these decisions without having to result to rules or a parliament controlling who should be licensed to use them. Want to become involved in research projects. If you have a particular interest consider joining as an associate, if this is not for you you can always email us saying the type of research you would like to work along with or be a volunteer to try out some techniques. Use the email contact address below. If you are a member of one of the groups that is a member of this association then speak to your education officer who will be able to tell you who within your group is liaising on each project or put you in touch with the project leader. If you have a project of your ownWe would love to hear what you are working on and in some cases we may be able to help or to share with you information that may be of assistance
