MembershipWe have four grades of membership, Organization full, organization associate, and individual and individual associate. We have no membership fees for any class of membership, and normally any individual or organization has to be an associate for a period before being considered for election to full membership, by the other groups who are already full members. Membership is on a group or coven basis, or as an individual, not as a path. Currently (Nov 05) no new members are being admitted to the organizational full and full individual membership, as to do so involves sharing information about other groups, and currently we have some concerns over that. (See Traditional craft links under portal for an explanation of these concerns). We have not decided how long this situation will last. This is being reviewed at the current time and may change shortly so please call back. Organizations can join as organization associates or individuals can join as individual associates. In any event this would be the first stage. Associates, rather than having the full membership list, make all enquires or correspondence through either Aqua, or one of the people that Aqua assigns to supervise an associate. This allows us to find out far more about your group and at the same time for your group to get used to the concept of their being other groups who have similar views and how they all work together. If you are a part of a structure, or your group belongs to other groups, or organizations you need to consider the consequences of membership of this association, and other organizational or membership breaks that may be entailed. You may find it helpful to see the sections labelled principles and religion and beliefs, to see how you and your group fit amongst our groups. Our objective as you will see from the introduction and principles pages are to be as open as we can, while at the same time recognizing that many groups still wish to operate without publicity and see no advantage of becoming more visible. We will do our best to maintain any information you give us confidential, but in the UK there are many organizations and government departments, police etc who may have access to internet, phone and post, and some, and in particular the police will have employees who will turn over information for a reward, or to help someone or some organization they wish to support for some reason. Information passed through public systems may therefore be misused beyond our control. The association does not match people into existing covens, or introduce people to covens. If you want to start a group, you are advised to see the water witches web site, on how to set up a study group. Your group does not have to become a water witches coven. If you wish to apply for membership for you or your organization, please complete the on-line form (link below) on you and your organisation, together with email address for us to contact you. It is most likely you will get an answer on our behalf from Aqua, leader of the Water Witches, or the leader of one of the groups that is either nearer to you geographically or philosophically. If you have questions in advance you can email them to the general email shown on the bottom of all pages or better still complete one of the form-mail forms. |
